Position:  Operations Director

 

Location: Administration Offices

 

Reports to: Superintendent

 

Status:  Exempt/Support

 

Contract: 240 days/8 hours daily

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for all duties, activities, and management responsibilities required to achieve the construction, installation, and maintenance schedules for multiple sites. Work closely with the District Superintendent and architects, engineers, Maintenance staff and senior leadership in the planning processes for new sites and/or reconfigurations to ensure all projects conform to quality standards, specifications, and building codes.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture and engineering or other engineering discipline preferred. Experience can substitute for a degree.
  • Experience in construction-related fieldwork, interior finish-out, architectural background, and comprehension of construction documents and details.
  • Experience with budgets and project management is preferred.
  • The ability to draft and basic space planning is a plus.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 
  • Lead and direct the work of others.
  • Experience with Oklahoma Public Competitive bidding is required

Language Skills:

  • Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, site/plat surveys, real estate contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and the general public

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components
  • Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
  • Noise level varies from quiet to loud
  • Temperature varies from hot to cold
  • Overnight travel is required
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
