Status:  Exempt

 

Contract:  210 days/ 8 hours a day

 

Evaluation Tool: McRel and Checkpoint Meetings 

 

Salary:  To be determined based on education and experience. Excellent benefits package includes paid employee health insurance, paid employee dental insurance, paid basic life insurance and paid Oklahoma Teachers Retirement (OTRS).

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced educational leader to serve as the Principal of our Alternative School. As the Principal, you will be responsible for the school's overall leadership, management, and academic success, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education tailored to their individual needs. First and foremost, he or she must be a leader who manages the school team to recruit and retain a full student enrollment throughout the year. With full enrollment, the Principal also ensures a quality educational experience for all students and, working with the staff, guides students into promising job and career pathways.

This person will be the principal of Page Academy and the Sand Springs Public Schools Transition Academy (a post-secondary program for special education students 18-22 years of age to assist students with independent living and work skills). 

 

 

About the Alternative School and Transition Academy:

Sand Springs Alternative School is a unique educational setting that serves students struggling in traditional school environments. We are committed to providing a supportive, individualized, and engaging learning experience that empowers students to succeed. 

 

Sand Springs PS Transition Academy is a post-secondary special education program for students 18 through 22. The program's primary focus is on independent living and work skills. Typically, there are approximately five staff members and 10 to 12 students working at the Transition Academy.

This position works primarily in an office environment with a low to medium noise level. It requires the ability to sit and/or stand for a prolonged period, move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials manually, stoop, bend, and reach, and regular attendance and physical presence at the office.
