Status: Exempt
Certification: Applicants must be certified in Physical Education or hold a valid teaching certificate. Additional requirements are mandatory for coaching duties. Applicants must pass an OSBI background check.

Essential Duties for the Head Wrestling Coach:
The Head Wrestling Coach will lead the wrestling program in and out of the wrestling facility. Coaches must demonstrate knowledge of the sport, basic coaching principles, and an understanding of the OSSAA bylaws. They must also be ambassadors for the school and program.
Essential coaching duties include:
- Practice plans
- Submitting rosters to the Athletic Department
- Maintaining student-athlete safety and supervision
- Assisting the Athletic Department with scheduling opponents
- Maintaining inventories of equipment and uniforms
- Fundraising and keeping accurate records to work with the media to promote the success of the team

- Be an appropriate role model for high school student-athletes.
- Hold high expectations and accountability academically and behaviorally for all student-athletes and coaching staff.
- Ability to develop, articulate, and implement a vision for the program.
- Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously in an educationally based, school-wide athletic program.
- Experience leading a comprehensive high school athletic program preferred.
- Be relationship/process oriented.
- Understand and provide information regarding eligibility, the tryout process, the cut process, and all other team-related information, including lettering, team rules, etc.
- Be creative and involved in all fundraising for the program.
- Communicate effectively with ALL stakeholders.
- Be an advocate for the multi-sport athlete.
- Recommend/assist in scheduling for your sport with the Athletic Director.
- Be readily accessible and visible to the athletes at all program levels.
- Follow all aspects of the Digital Communication requirements set by SSPS.
- Implement and follow the SSPS Athletic Code of Conduct for students
- Provide communication with parents, students, teachers, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Applicants are also required to have AED training, CPR, Care and Prevention, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and
First Aid for coaching duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for teaching duties:
• Establishes and implements classroom procedures designed to maximize student learning in an environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the students' maturity and interests.
• Prepares detailed weekly written lesson plans consistent with Oklahoma Academic Standards, specifically designed to teach skills on course curriculum maps, and timely submits plans to the assigned principal.
• Complies with and fully implements all Individualized Education Plans and behavioral or academic interventions.
• Maintains a neat and orderly classroom, including the physical arrangement of the room, student records, and materials.
• Handles routine classroom discipline fairly.
• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. For the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom fairly and justly.
• Attends and participates in all required meetings and conferences, including professional development and planning meetings, and strives for professional growth.
• Maintains complete and accurate student records, including attendance, performance, and discipline.
• Provides professional and regular feedback to students and parents, ensures compliance with all laws and district policies and procedures, and communicates regularly with parents via notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
• Utilizes professional behavior in all school-related interactions.
• Complies with all federal, state, and local laws, board policies, and procedures.
• Uses formative and summative data to guide instruction, plan for student interventions, and communicate progress to parents.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction, adapting the curriculum as needed.
• Provides a technology-enriched environment to support student learning.
• Maintains availability to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
• Plans and coordinates the work of teacher assistants, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
• Collaborates with other professionals to enrich and improve students' academic progress.

- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g., instructional technology)
- Assume all requirements of a Varsity Head Wrestling Coach
- Manage Booster Club
- Coordinate with wrestling students and parents
