Qualifications:       

High school diploma.

Must Pass an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations Background Check.
Ability to relate to people and adapt to fluctuating situations.
Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports To: Director of Transportation and Special Education Bus Coach

 

Performance Responsibilities:

        1.  Assists the bus driver in transporting students over the specified route to and from school.

        2.  Assures the safety of passengers.

        3.  Complies with district policies.

        4.  Assists in keeping the assigned bus clean.

        5.  Assists the bus driver with scanning students getting on and off the bus for tracking and security.

        6.  Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Regular Requirements:

Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above the shoulder, and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students; lift/move up to 50 pounds.

 

Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 50 pounds

 

Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Note - these duties vary based on the individual student's needs and individualized education plans. Typically, this position calls for an individual to assist the bus driver in fulfilling specific needs while being transported by the district. 

 

Terms of Employment:

Nine (9) months a year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.  Benefits as established by Board policy.  Subject to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) yearly physical and random drug screening.
