Position: McKinney-Vento District Homeless Liaison Assistant
Location: Central Administrative Services, Sand Springs Public Schools
Calendar Days: 180 days (per SSPS fiscal year, contingent on available grant funding)
Daily Hours: 7 hours daily
Benefits: Paid Flexible Benefits Allowance
Travel Stipend: $1,000.00 yearly
Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Susan Cox- District Homeless Liaison, Claudia Smith- Federal Programs Director
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree preferred
Job Goal:
To assist in identifying and overall needs of Sand Springs Public Schools McKinney-Vento (Homeless) students and provide assistance with funding sources related to federal program requirements.
Evaluation: Yearly

Regular Requirements
Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above the shoulder and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students; lift/move up to 15 pounds
Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 25 pounds, ability to administer CPR
Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete student evaluations, allowing for immediate communication and support in providing services to students
- Provide regular targeted outreach, such as partnering with local shelters, food pantries, community centers, and other community agencies where homeless children and unaccompanied youth may seek support
- Assist in promoting a public awareness campaign to educate the public and promote resources through social media, community flyers, and informational sessions
- Organize workshops and/or informational sessions focusing on McKinney-Vento rights, school enrollment process, and available support services
- Maintain documentation and paperwork required for Homeless families and youth
- Maintain and complete purchase orders and documentation related to federal program funding requirements
- Maintain adequate record-keeping for federal program requirements
- Other duties as required
Additional Skills Required:
• Use computers for various applications, such as database management or word processing.
• Manage email box for incoming invoices, including printing and distribution for processing
• Research and code invoices for payables
• Work with controller on monthly accruals.
• Set up and manage paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents, correspondence, or other material.
• Operate office equipment, such as scanners, copiers, and phone systems.
• Complete forms in accordance with company procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Other Skills/Abilities
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as MS Office, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
• Communicating effectively verbally or in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
• Strong organizational skills
• Clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to callers
• Utilize Google Suite of products
