SUMMARY: Supports the Varsity Head Coach with all assigned duties. Coaches and provides direction to student-athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

  1. Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
  2. Follows and maintains knowledge of all policies of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA)
  3. Exhibits loyalty to the Head Coach and Sand Springs Public Schools sports programs
  4. Assists in instruction and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement
  5. Assists in planning and setting up activities, practices, and/or games
  6. Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
  7. Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student-athletes at all times
  8. Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles
  9. Travels with student-athletes on the team bus both to and from games/events
  10. Ensures the medical and safety requirements are followed
  11. Appropriately maintains and secures confidential student records and inquiries
  12. Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with students, parents, community, and staff
  13. All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

ADDITIONAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to speak clearly in a well-modulated voice with good diction. Ability to read, write, and interpret English in various forms. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and mathematical operations to tasks.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS: Current driver's license in good standing.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee will be lifting, bending, and crawling, and must be able to raise a minimum of thirty (30) pounds. The employee will be standing and climbing stairs.
