Contract: 180 days/7 hours daily
Status: Exempt
Job Description:
This position requires an individual who enjoys assisting 6th through 12th-grade students working toward successful credit recovery and/or attending an alternative setting to a traditional high school.
Qualifications:
48 Hours College Credit OR Passing Score on Paraprofessional Test, High School Diploma or Equivalent Completion of Paraprofessional Training Required by the OSDE CPI Certificate CPR and First Aid Certificate, Obtain a Tiered Certification Certificate as specified by the OSDE. Pass the qualifications for a National Criminal History Check with the OSDE/OSBI.
Have a high school diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) diploma, PLUS:
- Option A:
Hold an associate’s degree (or higher)
OR
- Option B:
Complete at least two years (48 credit hours) of study at an institution of higher education.
OR
- Option C:
Pass the Oklahoma General Education (OGET) Test. (See Office of Educational Quality and Accountability for testing.)
OR
- Option D:
Pass the Praxis ParaProfessional Assessment Test (Passing score is 455)
- Pass an Oklahoma Criminal Background Check

- $10 processing fee (check, cashier’s check, or money order) made payable to the Oklahoma State Department of Education (will be required if hired for this position)

Job Goal: Provide exceptional instruction to assigned students while working within the established policies and procedures of the district.
Evaluation: Annually by the principal
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Assist students on Edgenuity online program daily by maintaining the virtual format and ensuring that all students have access to their curriculum.
*Assist students by providing support/academic assistance, as necessary.
*Track student progress by monitoring grades and time spent on the program.
*Enter grades from Edgenuity onto Infinite Campus for each student weekly.
*Provide additional material for student completion, as needed.
*Maintain positive student/teacher relationships.
*Assists with crisis problems and behavior management.
*Keep the lodge manager and other TBH staff informed of any behavior concerns by sending behavior reports.
*Attend all meetings assigned by the building administrator.
*Maintain confidentiality of student information.
*Cleans and maintains an efficient classroom.
*Provide awards for the monthly awards assembly.
*May be asked to assist in sending and receiving student records.
*Collaborate with fellow teachers during school-wide events.
*Other duties as assigned
